WHEDA CEO and Executive Director, Elmer Moore, Jr.’s Statement on Governor’s Signing of Bipartisan Housing Legislation
MADISON, Wis. — Governor Tony Evers today signed five bipartisan bills to address the need for more affordable housing options in Wisconsin, which has been a priority for him and his administration.
Assembly Bills 264-268 provide for a variety of affordable housing development and rehabilitation, four of which are designated to be administered by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).
WHEDA CEO and Executive Director Elmer Moore, Jr. released the following statement in celebration of the legislation:
"This affirms our position that affordable housing truly is a bipartisan concern because we’re in a crisis. Housing is a core human need and the people across the state of Wisconsin deserve to be considered and to have the housing resources they need to thrive.
I’m so proud of Gov. Evers for signing these bills into law and the WHEDA team for using their talent and time in making a strong plea to our legislators that action is necessary.”
