March 17, 2025
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) announced today that Shreedhar Ranabhat will transition to a business development role within Commercial Lending, a newly created position in the organization. The commercial lending team focuses on deploying capital and resources to finance multifamily affordable housing and business development projects throughout Wisconsin.
“We see a great opportunity for Shreedhar to continue tackling the housing crisis in this new position that brings all his relationships and experience to bear,” said WHEDA CEO Elmer Moore, Jr.
Ranabhat will work directly with development community members to align their needs with WHEDA resources and seek opportunities to expand ideas that will lead to more affordable housing in Wisconsin.
“I’m looking forward to leveraging my years of affordable housing experience to continue expanding accessibility in urban and rural markets,” said Ranabhat.
Currently, Ranabhat serves as Interim Commercial Lending Director while transitioning to his new business development role.
For nearly two decades, Ranabhat has held various positions at WHEDA. He started his career with WHEDA in 2003, and from 2014 to 2018, he was with Forward Community Investments, a large developer. He rejoined WHEDA in 2018 to serve WHEDA’s mission on various fronts in commercial lending and multifamily development.
Ranabhat earned his master’s degree in urban and regional planning from UW-Madison.
